The owner of an independent nursery on the grounds of Ashlyns School has assured parents that construction work poses no risk to children in her care.
One parent complained to Dacorum Borough Council about safety concerns at Pooh Corner, after work to transform Ashlyns into a two-tier school began earlier in the summer.
Russell Svensen, dad to three-year-old twins at the nursery, said: “The children are literally feet away from the noise and machinery. I am moving my children because I have lost trust.”
But owner Cathy Sykes said: “We have embraced the work by teaching the children about what goes into a building project. It is inconvenient, but we are trying to make it into a positive.”
An environmental health officer inspected the site and was happy with the measures in place.
