Tring Farmers’ Market is moving to its new home – but fear not shoppers, because it is only moving a few hundred yards.
From tomorrow, the fortnightly market will be held on Church Square in Tring High Street.
The market was launched in May 1999 and was previously based in Brook Street.
As well as being the county’s first farmers’ market, it was one of the first in the country with the concept to promote local food for local people, linking producers directly with consumers.
Over the years it has evolved and supported long-established local producers as well as those new enterprises wishing to establish themselves.
Highlights include local foodstuffs from lamb, pork and beef, to game, eggs and locally matured British cheeses, as well as plants and craft products.
The regular seasonal markets also provide extra stalls, activities and entertainment.
The market is on every other Saturday morning from 9am to 12.15pm in its new home in Church Square.
