Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital following a crash on the A414.

Police are today appealing for witnesses after the accident which happened shortly after 7pm on Friday on the A414 between the Park Street roundabout and the M1 Junction 8.

A motorcyclist riding a red Harley Davidson and carrying a pillion passenger was travelling towards the motorway when they collided with a grey Toyota Yaris.

The male and female motorcyclists were both taken to Whitechapel Hospital, with the female being taken by air ambulance where she remains in a serious condition.

PC Bob Hauxwell who is investigating the collision said: “I would urge anyone who may have driven on that stretch of the A414 prior to, or shortly after the collision took place to contact us.

“Also, if anyone saw the Harley Davidson being driven along the A414 prior to the crash, I would also urge them to come forward.”
