A man was attacked by a masked robber who demanded the victim hand over his Rolex watch and hit him causing fractures to his face before making off empty handed.

The attempted robbery happened in Aspen place, Boxmoor, just before 10.30pm on Monday, June 22.

Det Con James Simpson said: “We have been conducting a number of enquiries since the incident was reported to police, and these have led us to believe that the offender could possibly live in the local area.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident take place that evening, or a man in the area wearing a mask. People may know who did this and if they do, I’d ask them to come forward.”

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Det Con Simpson via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference D1/15/3965.
