Halloween and Guy Fawkes’ Night are among the most magical calendar dates for children, so Herts Police has created a fun competition to help little ones stay safe during the spellbinding season.
The force is inviting kids and teens across the county to take part in an online quiz which will give safety advice about trick or treating and fireworks.
Entrants aged nine to 16 have the chance to win a family ticket to the Warner Bros Studios – The Making of Harry Potter experience in Leavesden, while those entering the five to eight year olds category could scoop family passes to Willows Farm at London Colney if they get their questions right.
Click here to take part. Entries must be received by midnight on Friday, November 8.
Police will also be carrying out extra patrols to prevent anti-social behaviour over Halloween and bonfire night, and have issued the following Halloween safety advice to children:
> Never go trick or treating alone and always take an adult with you.
> Don’t knock on the doors of strangers (or look out for signs that trick or treaters are welcome, such as Halloween decorations).
> Keep your Halloween ‘tricks’ safe – damage to property or hurting someone is a crime.
> Remember road safety rules, particularly after dark.
