A PREGNANCY clinic has been launched to make childbirth just that bit easier for mums-to-be.
The Church Lane centre in Berkhamsted is called Carmenta Life.
Its run by obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Joseph Iskaros and Berkhamsted midwife Cathy Johnson, who runs parenting and pregnancy business Womb to Bloom.
Dr Iskaros, who also lives in Berkhamsted, did part of his training in Hemel Hempstead Hospital, where he ran the early pregnancy unit.
He said: “I have always wanted to establish something similar to that, but to make it easy for people to have access to - rather than going through long waiting lists for hospital.”
The new centre will offer all of the traditional medical practices like ultrasound therapy, but baby massages and hypnotherapy - using relaxation techniques to give birth - will also be offered.
Therapies such as yoga will also be offered. There will be a breast-feeding cafe to teach new mums the best ways of giving it, and weight-loss programmes too.
