Plans to sacrifice green belt land for housing are one step closure as council chiefs continue to firm up plans.
Dacorum Borough Council now wants feedback on the changes it has made to its housing blueprint for the next 20 years following public consultation.
Among the locations are the opposed LA3 site in West Hemel Hempstead, LA5 at Icknield Way, Tring and LA1 at Marchmont Farm, Grovehill.
Residents and organisations gave feedback on the original site proposals in 2014 and since then the council has been considering these comments with infrastructure providers, landowners, consultants and other relevant organisations.
Changes to the document have been published in the Focused Changes consultation.
The document still includes six green belt plots and these sites - designated for housing - are not being reopened for consideration as the council is required to hit its government-set housing targets.
Councillor Graham Sutton, who oversees planning and regeneration, said: “The Focused Changes consultation is more limited in scope than previous rounds of consultation as we are only seeking local residents’ views on the proposed changes to the Site Allocations document. If you commented on earlier versions of the document, please take a look and see if the changes we’ve made address your concerns.
“We want to work with local residents and organisations to ensure that what we deliver meets the needs of the community now and in the future. We will ensure that all comments are passed to the Planning Inspector and taken into account as part of the independent examination process that the plan will go through early next year.”
The consultation runs until 5.15pm on Wednesday, September 23 and can be found at www.dacorum.gov.uk/siteallocations.
The plan has to be passed by the independent Planning Inspector before it can be adopted and brought into effect by the council.
