Up for something a little different? The Wicket Brood Morris Dancing Festival takes place in Hemel Hempstead tomorrow.
The Wicket Brood Morris dancing group will perform displays across the borough, including at the town centre Marlowes Shopping Centre and Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town.
They will be joined by dancers from across the country and even other corners of the world
The event marks the group’s 20th birthday celebrations, and will culminate in a mass performance at the Market Square along Marlowes at 3.25pm.
Formed in 1994, the group is a mixed-sex Morris dancing side principally performing dances in the Border tradition.
The troupe performs in ‘tatter’ jackets of purple, green, and black, and practices in the village of Bricket Wood in Herts, near St Albans, and its funny name is a play on its homeground.
For more information, visit www.wicketbrood.org.uk or follow the group on Twitter with the handle @WicketBrood, where details of performances will be posted.
