Have a say on speed review in Herts County Council consultation

People are being asked for their views on plans to change how speed limits are set.

Herts County Council is launching a public consultation on Friday into a new speed management strategy drawn up following a review in partnership with police.

If approved it would make it easier for 20mph zones to be created and see the introduction of zonal rural speed limits, usually set at 40mph.

Councillor Terry Douris, who oversees highways, said: “We know people are concerned about speeding traffic and we want to make sure that we can put appropriate limits in place. But first we want to hear people’s views.”
