A woman who survived ovarian cancer as a teenager has raised more than £6,500 towards fighting the ‘silent killer’.
Mum-of-one Emma Briers hosted a wedding ball to raise cash for Target Ovarian Cancer.
It saw 160 people get dolled up in wedding dresses, morning suits and other attire associated with tying the knot for a charity night at Hemel Hempstead’s Abbot’s Hill School.
Emma, who battled the disease when she was just 18, said: “We did pretty well. My goal was £5,000 and if I didn’t make that I would have been disappointed.
“Thank you to everyone who came and helped make the evening a success, including local businesses who gave donations.”
