THE latest addition to a haulage firm boss’s car collection will be on show at this year’s Spirit of Dacorum.
David Furnell even hopes to get a well-known face behind the wheel of his cherished AC 1936 March Special but is keeping tight lipped until closer to the big day on Sunday, May 1.
He is the mastermind behind the charity event – first held in 2009 – which sees vintage cars and motorbikes tour the borough before pulling into Hemel Hempstead’s town centre for a public exhibition.
The proud owner of eight classic cars, Mr Furnell’s 1901 steam car, which he owns with a friend, will also be on show in Marlowes.
So far more than 120 motor fans have signed up to the day but there is still space for more car buffs to join in.
It costs £25 to take part and cars will set off from four starting points around the borough in Tring, Ashridge, Markyate and Chipperfield.
The last event raised £10,000 for the Dacorum Community Trust, which distributes funds to the most in need locally and it is hoped even more will be collected for the good cause this time round.
