Herts’ police and crime commissioner is surveying companies in a bid to tackle business crime in the county.

According to crime czar David Lloyd, while overall levels of crime remain low in Herts, crime against businesses accounts for almost a quarter of all recorded offences.

His latest initiative is a survey of businesses across the county to find out their needs and experiences.

He said: “Herts is home to more than 50,000 businesses, large and small, and their success and is pivotal to the prosperity of this county.

“I understand the devastating effect that crime can have on business, both in the towns and rural areas, and I am committed to tackling it head-on.

“Even if your business has never been targeted for crime, your views are essential to help shape the strategy and help put resources and expertise where they are needed most.”

The survey is available on line now at – the survey takes just minutes to complete and will be open for responses until mid-September.
