A GROUP of teenagers had an eye-opening experience during a visit to a Third World village.
The youngsters aged 16 to 18 went to Wamba in Kenya on a trip led by Berkhamsted’s Swan Youth Centre coordinator Clare Muir and Ashlyns School PE teacher John Preston.
Clare goes there every year to check on the progress of her charity, the Wamba Community Trust.
Since 2010, it has given classrooms, desks, chairs, uniforms, books, pencils, kitchen, toilets, water tank and piping to the new Ruby Pre-School, named after Clare’s daughter.
