A chalk stream project which looks after the River Bulbourne has received the national Bowland Award.
The Chilterns Chalk Streams Project has been conserving the Bulbourne for 13 years and the coveted award is recognition of its hard work.
It has improved the streams, protected rare wildlife and encouraged local people to enjoy the river.
Chalk streams are globally rare, being only found in north west Europe and England in particular.
But they are threatened, suffering from pollution, habitat degradation and low flows.
