A RESEARCHER who has been on multiple Arctic expeditions has described his experiences to a packed audience.

Ian Bartholomew was booked as a speaker by David Pearce, chairman of the Cowper Society and his former teacher at Berkhamsted School.

The Edinburgh University student has been on two four-month trips to Greenland in the past three years to research his PhD on Arctic glaziers.

During an event at The Court House, Berkhamsted, on Monday, Ian showed pictures from his trips to the Arctic country.

The 28-year-old told the Gazette: “I have been [to Greenland] lots of times just for a week here and there. I am going back for two weeks in April.”
