FUNDRAISERS expect a bumper year for donations after netting £5,000 for charities.
The organisers of the annual Petertide Fair have held their first promises auction for 20 years, where guests bid for things like an afternoon of metal detecting.
Also, tickets for their Petertide May Dinner at The Gatsby in High Street, Berkhamsted, on the 3rd sold out within 24 hours.
The Petertide Fair, now in its 30th year, will be held on Saturday, June 11, at St Peter’s Church in High Street, Berkhamsted.
Activities will include mini train rides for children, live music and a variety of stalls.
Organisers will donate some of their takings to Sunnyside Rural Trust, which uses horticulture and community projects to help adults with learning difficulties.
The rest will go to the McCabe Educational Trust to help the needy overseas.
Petertide Fair chairman Judith Limbert said: “I am thrilled and delighted we have already raised a significant sum for our charities.”
