A highly successful event was held earlier this month at Hemel One on Boundary Way, hosted by the Maylands Partnership.
More than 75 businesses attended the network event to find out about the £30 million Hemel Hempstead Town Centre Investment project by Dacorum Borough Council.
Chief executive, Sally Marshall outlined some of the work that is currently taking place in the borough.
Additionally, businesses were made aware of grants of £1,200, available to encourage them to take on their first apprentice. They were also informed about free business advice to support growth and were offered other opportunities available at Maylands Business Centre where it is possible to have virtual office and a business address if they have a home office, giving them a professional business front and profile.
Joe Olley a business member of the Growth Forum presented on the new online Business Directory, which was developed to encourage links and engagement between Dacorum’s business community. Businesses were urged to complete the survey’s that are circulated; topics have included skills and finance. These only take 5 minutes and it enables the Council to listen to business needs and plan future work.
