Young cubs were among walkers putting their best foot forward to raise cash to help disadvantaged children.
The Northchurch Cubs turned out on Sunday for the 45th Berkhamsted Walk in aid of the Children’s Society. They were walking as part of work towards their hiking badge.
Organiser Ann Browning said: “We had quite a lot more young people which was a great boon to us.”
Among them was 13 year old Jonathan Entwistle, who has been taking part since he was just eight years old. He has progressed up from the six mile route, to 12-miles and this time around completed the 18-mile trek.
His 11 year old sister Any-Rose also took part, covering 12-miles.
The oldest walker on the day was 78, while the youngest was just 18 months old although the tot completed most of the distance in a buggy.
The walk is expected to bring in up to £7,000 for the national charity, which helps the most disadvantaged children in the UK.
