British Transport Police are investigating what caused cable damage that delayed many train passengers yesterday.
Officers and engineers worked alongside Network Rail experts to fix the problem, close to Apsley Train Station, after a 2.40pm call-out following reports of signal failure.
Eight Euston to Tring trains were cancelled between 2.24pm and 9.24pm. There were also multiple delays and early train terminations.
