Man charged after street knife slash attack

A 28-YEAR-OLD has been charged after a man in a wheelchair was punched and another person was slashed with a knife.

Last week the HeraldExpress reported that a 56-year-old passer-by who tried to help a disabled victim in Henry Wells Square, Hemel Hempstead, was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being attacked.

Christopher Malcolm, of Durrants Road, Berkhamsted, has been charged with actual bodily harm, common assault, three counts of criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

He will appear in St Albans Magistrates Court on April 20.
