THESE youngsters have every reason to look apprehensive as one of their classmates submits to a breath test, because the next step is a trip down to the station in a police car.
But it was role play, not wrongdoing, that put pupils and the police together.
The St Mary’s C of E First School students were at Berkhamsted Police Station for an educational day out.
The Year One youngsters from Northchurch had their fingerprints taken, tried on handcuffs, looked around the cells and saw the police dog. They turned a police car’s sirens on and off too.
Teacher April Townsend said: “They had a wonderful time.”
