A Christmas themed fun day is being held at Grovehill Community Centre on Saturday.

There will be festive stalls, a bouncy castle and children’s play area provided by Sunshine Softplay, a raffle and tombola and a chance for little ones to have their picture taken with Santa for £5.

The event will run from 1pm to 4.30pm.

Among the fundraisers will be the Collins family who have embarked on an £80,000 fundraising drive to send four year old Noah Collins to America for a life-changing operation.

The youngster suffers from cerebral palsy and parents Jeanette and David hope that the complex surgery will allow him to one day walk.

At the very least the operation will improve his balance and ease stiffness helping to prevent deformity in his legs and the need for further surgeries as he grows up.

The family, who have already raised £10,000, will be collecting donations at the fun day. It is hoped that Noah will be able to have the operation in August next year.
