A charity shop refresh saw customer numbers soar on its re-launch day – and the new look impressed regulars too.
The Rennie Grove Hospice Care shop on Tring High Street was closed for a week to make way for new lights and wall panels, and to allow the cash desk to be moved to increase floor space.
Dacorum Mayor Bert Chapman then arrived to cut the ribbon and declared the shop open for business once more.
Area manager Deborah Gould said: “The shop was ready for a refurb, and it’s a lovely refit. It needed it, and we need to encourage new customers.”
And it seemed to do the trick, as following the grand re-opening on Wednesday, store manager Claire Fazekas said: “It’s been an incredible day, and we’ve attracted a lot of new customers, as well as our loyal ones who said they missed us!”
