Volunteer Centre Dacorum is hosting a music extravaganza at Adeyfield Community Centre.

This special event is to raise funds for Volunteer Centre Dacorum, transforming lives and building communities through volunteering on Saturday, October 4 from 7.30pm to 11pm, Adeyfield Community Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

It will be an evening of music performed by the renowned Village Jazz ( who are joined by a fantastic range of pop, jazz and country singers including Rebecca Madden (, Janice Carol (, Lesley Thomas and guitarist Ade Goodsall providing a music extravaganza that will suit all tastes. Please bring friends and family to this fun social evening, sing along, dance and enjoy.

The performers have all generously donated their time and skills to raise funds for Volunteer Centre Dacorum, a local charity that has helped over 500 charities and community organisations in Dacorum find volunteers, and found volunteer placements for more than 10,000 local residents over the past decade.

A fish ‘n’ chip supper and dessert is included in your ticket so please join us for a fun filled night whilst at the same time raise funds for a worthy cause in our local community.

Opportunity of the Week - Charity Shop Retail Assistant for DENS’ new retail venture in the town centre.

This opportunity is to assist with the operation of a new Charity Shop for DENS opening in Hemel Hempstead. As a Retail Assistant you can help to ensure that customers receive the best possible service and enjoy the new shop and what is has to offer.

The tasks will include meeting, greeting and serving customers and making them feel welcome, preparing donated items and displaying them for sale, cleaning and refilling stock displays, advising and helping people as they shop and serving tea and coffee to customers who visit. There is also the option to operate the till and deal with various types of payment, for which training will be provided. This is your chance to join the DENS gang and help to make the new shop a huge success on the High Street.

DENS has been providing emergency accommodation at the permanent night shelter for 10 years and urgently needs help from willing and enthusiastic volunteers.
