The latest volunteering opportunities from the Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
ROAR is a group based social scheme for adults with learning disabilities.
A wide range of fun things to do are planned each month and take place during the day, in the evening and at weekends.
Volunteers are needed who can help support members to get the most from their activities and have fun doing it.
Dacorum Mencap provides a variety of services to support people with a learning disability and their families and carers.
These services focus on enabling people to build the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
The right volunteer for ROAR will have good listening and people skills with bags of patience and enthusiasm; an understanding of learning disabilities; the ability to challenge discrimination and maintain confidentiality.
This is an ideal role for those wishing to work in the care field as well as for people with bags of enthusiasm who want to share it with others.
