A mother-of-two who beat breast cancer is encouraging other survivors to take part in Breast Cancer Care fashion show after she did so last year – and loved every minute.

Sarah Williams-Gardener, of Potten End, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in December 2012 following a routine health screening.

She underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy before being given the all clear.

As a way of celebrating, Sarah – who has two sons, William and James – was given the opportunity to strut her stuff on the catwalk – along with 23 others – at the glitzy event at the Grovesnor House Hotel in London.

Sarah, 47, said: “I cannot promote this enough.

“It’s far from scary – it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had the privilege to take part in. If another local person was selected to take part, wouldn’t that be amazing?”

Last year’s show – open to both men and women – raised £350,000, and it’s hoped that this year’s figure will trump that.

The closing date for this year’s show – on Wednesday, October 1 – is January 31.
