A team of caregivers from at-home care company Home Instead Senior Care has undergone specialist training to cope with the growing number of older people living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia in Hemel Hempstead.

The training programme, accredited by City & Guilds, has been developed especially for Home Instead, whose caregivers provide at-home care for older people, enabling them to remain in their own homes for longer than would otherwise be possible.

It is the only home care provider in the country to have received accreditation from City & Guilds for a dementia training programme.

The programme teaches innovative techniques for dealing with dementia, rather than focusing on the symptoms and treatments of the condition.

The Hemel office of Home Instead Senior Care is part of a national network of over 150 offices.
