Business chief smells something fishy

A BUSINESS chief has called for answers about what is going to happen to an empty town centre property.

It was vacated by popular restaurant Eat Fish because administrators could not find a new buyer to continue the business.

Now Ron Cowie, who leads the Berkhamsted Chamber of Commerce, says: “It is one less restaurant, which is not a good thing because Berkhamsted is quite known for its eating places.

“It is quite a big property and we have not heard anything about it. An empty restaurant in the town centre is not good news.”

The Gazette reported in December that Eat Fish was under the control of Luton-based Anthony David Kent.

A sign in the shop window now reads, ‘It is with regret that Eat Fish has ceased to trade.’
