Under its plans to centralise sorting offices, the base in Berkhamsted High Street will be shut from next month. Its workload will be transferred to a state-of-the-art centre in Maxted Road, Hemel Hempstead.
When the scheme was announced in September 2010, mail bosses said people would still be able to collect undelivered mail in Berkhamsted.
This plan has now been cancelled.
The Royal Mail said free redelivery is still available.
