Berkhamsted designer to have garden featured in Chelsea Flower Show

TWO designers have made a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show to help highlight the need for clean water and sanitation in the Third World.

It will be opened by Ringo Starr, former drummer for The Beatles.

The Herbert Smith garden for WaterAid begins as a barren desert in the shape of a single drop of water. In front of it is a water pump.

There is more and more vegetation as you walk along the garden until you reach its end, where there are masses of multi-coloured flowers.
