AN ARTIST who took his own life “lived it to the full” during his good periods, an inquest heard.

David Woollacott, 66, of Berkhamsted High Street, was found dead in the Grand Union Canal, Northchurch.

He was a talented artist with a knack for drama, choir-singing and designing stained glass, Hertfordshire Coroners Court heard.

His brother Raz Woollacott said: “His imagination shone through in his art.”

Last Wednesday’s inquest heard that David, who had bipolar disorder, had gone for electric shock treatment in July last year.

Raz said: “David was in quite a dark place and had really dark thoughts.”
