What Berkhamsted's new multi-storey car park could look like.

This is what a new multi-storey car park in Berkhamsted could look like if plans get the go-ahead.

The artist’s impression was released by Dacorum Borough Council to launch a two-day public exhibition on the scheme that will be held at The Court House in Church Lane.

The exhibition – at the Berkhamsted venue from 2pm to 7.30pm today (Wednesday) and 9.30am to 1.30pm tomorrow – will also ask people to consider plans for new parking permits.

The Berkhamsted Town Council permits would be drawn up in two zones around the town’s Charles Street and train station, and could be introduced alongside the new car park.

Householders in the areas have been asked to respond to a public consultation on the permit plans.

The car park will cost more than £3m to build.

An exhibition on the two schemes will also be held at Berkhamsted Market on Saturday.

The plans are available to view at Berkhamsted Civic Centre until Friday, October 26. You can see them between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Thursday or from 9am to 4pm on Fridays.
