A PROTESTER was told off by the mayor for “interrupting” a meeting of politicians to raise complaints about parking.

He was one of more than 20 people at the Berkhamsted Town Council gathering on Monday who wanted to complain about plans for residents-only parking zones.

Chris Penney said 74 of the town’s firms had responded to a survey about on it – and only two were in favour.

He said: “There is incredibly strong feeling that this is wrong.”

Later when he asked if there would be a chance to speak on it again, mayor Carol Green said: “I’m sorry but you are interrupting.”

She said the scheme would be discussed again at a later meeting.
