PRAISING students for their GCSE results was one of the first jobs for the new head teacher at Tring School.

Sue Collings, who will start in the position when the September term starts, said that she thought the year 11 pupils had done well.

She said: “Tring is really pleased to announce that we have once again improved our overall 5 A* to C grades at GCSE. This means for the third year running we are able to report best ever results at GCSE.”

“We are particularly pleased with the number of our students that have achieved A* and As.”

Pupils Simon Wheeler, Ricky Somervail, Sarah Pritchard and Hannah Victoria Taylor (pictured) were all happy with their good results.

Many of the students were up early and turned up at 8.30am to collect their results from the school on Mortimer Hill, and despite the dreary weather there were plenty of smiles.
