THERE are more laughs in store at the Old Town Hall at the end of the month when Dr Phil Hammond, GP, writer, broadcaster and possibly the only comedian to appear at a public inquiry, escapes from his surgery and heads to Hemel to answer all those awkward health questions.

If you want to know how to get out of hospital alive it’s worth making an appointment to see Dr Phil’s Rude Health Show on Wednesday, January 26, 8pm.

Berko and Tring will also be chuckling away in January as Mitch Benn and John Moloney with MCs Simon Clayton and Mary J Bourke come to Tring Rugby Club and Berkhamsted Hockey Club with another great double header comedy night.

Mitch Benn is one of the most sought-after acts on the comedy circuit and is also widely acknowledged as one of the best writers and performers of comic songs in the country.

He began his comedy career in Edinburgh in 1994, moved to London in 1996 and quickly established himself as a comedy club headliner as well as a favourite on the university circuit. Mitch is a regular writer and performer on BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show and BBC Radio 2’s It’s Been a Bad Week.

Three series of his successful Radio 4 show Mitch Benn’s Crimes Against Music have been broadcast so far and he also presents The Mitch Benn Music Show for BBC Radio 7. Mitch is also a TV regular - appearing on BBC1’s The One Show as the writer and arranger of The Complaints Choir, Channel 4’s Gas, Live at Jongleurs and The Warehouse and ITV’s Today with Des and Mel.

John Maloney has been on the circuit for 20 years and has a dryly deadpan, slow and deliberate style - laid-back humour from a seasoned pro.

Choose Tring or Berkhamsted - but make sure you don’t miss out on this top rate comedy double header on Saturday, January 29, 8pm.
