They say you should write what you know about – and there’s no denying that millionaire author and former MP Jeffrey Archer has been inside a courtroom or two in his time.
His courtroom drama Beyond Reasonable Doubt didn’t win over many critics but it was a big West End hit, running for more than 600 performances with Frank Finlay and Wendy Craig in the lead roles.
Now the tense legal tale, first performed at the end of the 1980s, is being revived by Little Gaddesden Drama Club.
The curtain won’t go up until January next year, but an open audition is being held on Sunday afternoon at Little Gaddesden Village Hall in Church Road.
There are a number of smaller speaking roles as well as the lead characters, who include rival lawyers, a judge and a detective.
If you’re interested in playing a part in the production, everyone is welcome – just pop along to the village hall at 5pm or call Julie McCarthy on 01442 842565.
