There will be a touch of steel about the spring at the Boxmoor Playhouse later this month, when the Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company unveil their latest production.
Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias, written as a very personal tribute to the author’s much-loved sister, is best known as a star-studded movie which had a cast including Julia Roberts, Dolly Parton and Shirley Maclaine.
The story of a small town beauty parlour in steamy, sticky Louisiana is all about life, love and loss and the cast, directed by Lynda Livsey-Randall, will relish the opportunity to make the most of a script crackling with witty lines.
The show runs from Wednesday, March 19 through to Saturday, March 22 with 7.45pm performances each evening and a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday.
Tickets are £10 for adults, £9 concessions in the stalls, with further discounts of group bookings. Visit www.boxmoorplayhouse.co.uk, for more details.
