Since Alan Aykbourn penned evergreen comedy Bedroom Farce in 1975 it has become a popular choice for companies up and down the country.

It’s easy to see why – there are meaty roles for an ensemble cast, an intricate plot full of fun and the Aykbourn pedigree to draw in the punters.

This week the Berkhamsted Theatre Company present their take on one of the Scarborough master’s most popular plays, in which four couples, three bedrooms, two celebrations, one blazing row and an illicit kiss (or two) combine to hilarious effect.

The curtain goes up at Pendley’s Court Theatre on Wednesday and the play runs until Saturday. Tickets are £10 (£9 concessions) available online at www.courttheatre.co.uk, by calling 07543 560478 or by dropping into Beechwood Fine Foods in Frogmore Street during normal business hours.
