A stellar cast of star performers will be taking to the stage at the Boxmoor Playhouse on Saturday night – and organisers of Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company’s annual Stars night promise that you won’t be able to tell them from the real thing.
Fans of 1990s TV mainstay Stars In Their Eyes will know just what to expect – performers from all walks of life getting the chance to impersonate their favourite stars for one night only.
The company’s marketing maestro Stewart Fairthorne said this week: “It’s tremendous fun for the contestants and a fabulous evening’s entertainment for the audience, who first have to try and guess the assumed identity of each performer during a short spoof film clip, and then later have the chance to vote for their winner.”
The identity of this year’s star performers is always a closely-guarded secret, but in recent years the likes of Elton John, Tina Turner, Madonna, Rod Stewart, Boy George, Lady Gaga, Meatloaf and the Spice Girls have all added Boxmoor to their touring schedule, whether they knew it or not.
The venue will be laid out in a table format with snacks on each table and a bar on offer.
It all kicks off from 7.45pm and tickets are £9 per person.
