Pals put their creative skills to the test with paper at Frogmore Mill

Artists who are showing off their skills at Apsley’s Paper Trail have welcomed school students into their space.

The Material Matters exhibition at the Frogmore Paper Mill venue showcases the creations of ArtWork, a group of former art students from the University of Hertfordshire who have been friends for more than 20 years and come together each year to show off their work.

Their latest exhibition includes drawings, paintings, printmaking, photography, textiles, ceramics and paper pulp artworks.

On Thursday they gave a workshop for Year 13 students, making woodprints before answering questions about their work.

Represented in the show are Jean Atkinson, Liz Boast, Asiya Clarke, Angela Edmonds, Elaine Ettkind, Sue Eyles, Frances Ewing-Press, Penny Figgis, Lorraine Fox, Mitzie Green, Barbara Jepps, Terry Sadler and Jenny Watts.

Some of the artists collaborated on a piece based on different paper materials, creating the work while visitors to the show watched.

The free exhibition runs until the end of the month, from 11am to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Call 01442 234600 for more details.
