If you rocked away to the sounds of Soulfish at a memorable Christmas gig at Pendley’s Court Theatre, you won’t need a second invitation to sign up for another serving of their tight Motown, Stax and Atlantic catalogue.

The 10-piece soul band sold out the 400-seat Tring venue, where they only appear once every two years to keep the crowds keen – and anyone who saw them at last year’s Tring Carnival will know all about the energy they bring to the stage.

The St Albans-based ensemble, who boast former members of a string of chart-topping bands and performers with a stack of West End experience in their ranks, have performed all over the country since forming 15 years ago.

But they’re on home ground on Friday night with a date at the Alban Arena, where their set full of hits made famous by James Brown, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, among others, is also a sure-fire ticket shifter. There’s support from 2Tone, tickets are £15 from www.alban-arena.co.uk or 01727 844488.
