Talented singer and trumpet player Georgina Jackson is no stranger to the Berkhamsted Jazz Club, and she returns to the town’s Civic Centre on Saturday, April 20 as leader of a sextet intent on serving up some sweet standards.
The concert is Benny, Peggy and Duke and jazz fans won’t need to be reminded of the surnames to know what’s in store.
She’ll be accompanied by Pete Long on sax and clarinet, Lewis Wright on vibes, Nick Dawson on piano and clarinet, Dave Chamberlain on bass and Richard Pite on drums.

And a time-served trumpet star inspired by iconic jazz names like Miles Davis and Freddy Hubbard will be the star attraction at the monthly Herts Jazz Club date at Welwyn Garden City’s Campus West complex on Sunday.
Dick Pearce first came to the fore as a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and went on to work with the likes of Graham Collier, Mike Westbrook and Keith Tippett while he was still in his twenties before becoming a key member of Ronnie Scott’s ensemble in the 1980s and 1990s. The quartet he’ll be fronting on Sunday features John Donaldson on piano, Alex Keen on bass and Vince Clark on drums.
