Tring Brewery branding appeared on The Apprentice after part of the show was filmed at an event the company sponsors.

Wednesday’s episode of the BBC One programme, where contestants compete to work with millionaire magnate Lord Sugar, was shot at the St Albans Beer Festival in September.

But Tring Brewery spokesman Ben Marston called it ‘car crash TV’.

He said: “They were just adding flavours to an existing beer and they did not even seem to get that right.

“God knows what would have happened if they would have had to make their own.”

He said people who work in breweries are ‘laid-back and relaxed’, not self-serving like contestants on The Apprentice.
