The remarkable achievements of iconic American president Abraham Lincoln were given a fresh focus by the Stephen Spielberg movie hit that earned Daniel Day-Lewis a record-breaking third Best Actor Oscar earlier this year.

And you can find out more about the man beneath the stovepipe hat and the beard in a talk at Hemel Hempstead Library on Thursday, July 4.

Lincoln expert Andrew Houseman will be looking at the assassinated emancipator’s life, his marriage, and the movie.
