Indulge the youngsters in one last festive treat by booking tickets to see Martin Scorcese’s first film for children, Hugo, on at the Rex Cinema in Berkhamsted on Saturday, January 7 and Monday, January 9 at 2pm.

Set in 1930s Paris, Hugo is an orphan who lives in a railway station winding all the station clocks, supposedly the job of his drunkard uncle and guardian who has long since abandoned him.

He lives in the rafters, eats stolen croissants and spends much of his time trying to keep out of the way of the bumptious station inspector.

The film stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Grace Moretz, Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ray Winstone, Emily Mortimer and Jude Law.

It’s described in a recent Guardian review as ‘a family friendly fantasy…a cinephile’s delight’.

Call the Rex box office for tickets on 01442 877759 – Monday to Saturday, 10.30am to 6pm.
