Don’t miss the chance to marvel
at Matisse

Treat yourself to a slice of Christmas culture by catching the Matisse exhibition at Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall.

The iconic French artist didn’t let failing health in his final years stifle his creativity – unable to wield a paintbrush, he turned to a simple pair of scissors to cut out striking shapes which were then assembled into some of the most famous images of the 20th century, including the instantly recognisable Blue Nudes. Matisse: Drawing With Scissors features 35 lithographic prints of the cut-outs produced in the last four years of his life.

The Gallery Bar is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, and the free exhibition runs until the end of the year.
