A Hemel Hempstead-based choir celebrating its golden jubilee this year is hosting a celebratory bash, with Handel’s Messiah as its pièce de résistance.
Tickets are selling fast for the Aeolian Singer’s 50th Anniversary Concert so you’ll need to be quick to bag a spot at the event, to be held in St John’s Church, Boxmoor, on Saturday, April 5 at 7.30pm.
The showpiece will see Roy Abrams – who conducted the choral group’s first performance of the Messiah five decades ago –return as a cellist.
The choir will be performing with the Chandos Ensemble under the direction of the Aeolians’ musical director Stephen Jones, and the night will feature a variety of solo performances including from former St John’s choir member Katherine Boyce.
