A sports auction scheduled to be held at a charity dinner next week is welcoming bids from all-comers before coveted lots are knocked down to the highest bidder.
A string of top lots will go under the hammer at the Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s sellout Question of Sport dinner in St Albans on Thursday.
The charity’s corporate fundraising manager Colin Ivey said: “The organisations we approached to donate lots for the auction were really generous – from a day at the races, signed football shirts, a behind-the-scenes visit to a horse racing stable and BMW driving experiences to luxury nights away and even a helicopter ride, there are some fantastic items available.
“We felt that we wanted to give everyone the chance to place bids by email before the final live auction takes place.
“We’ll be accepting email bids until Monday before the dinner and will post the latest bids for each item up on our website so that everyone knows how much has been bid to date.”
A full list of the items included in the auction is available at www.renniegrove.org/auction and emailed bids to email@example.com are being invited before 5pm on Monday.
