The Olympic spirit lives on in Herts

The Herts Sports Partnership are on the lookout for people who want to help make the Olympic legacy a reality.

Sport England and Sir Steve Redgrave have launched an Olympic legacy programme to continue the role that volunteers can play in British sport – and the HSP has been working to recruit, deploy and retain new volunteers into university, community, club and recreational sport throughout the county.

There are already more than 1,600 registered Sport Makers in Hertfordshire and the HSP is looking for volunteers to get involved specifically in disability sport and the Herts School Games.

Sport Makers can offer their time as assistant coaches, event organisers, general helpers, race marshals, score-keepers, media crews, website administrators, minibus drivers or first aiders.

Anybody interested in getting involved is invited to attend a Sport Makers workshop, where there will be information about the Sport Makers programme, disability sport, and the Herts School Games

To book a place, register at www.sportmakers.co.uk or for more information, contact Rebecca Small at r.small2@herts.ac.uk or on 01707 281006
