Stags ready to tackle the Thunder

Hemel Stags take on Gateshead Thunder this weekend in preparation for the first round of Northern Rail Cup on March 3.

After a busy off-season, the Stags squad is now complete and they will get a good run-out against an experienced Championship 1 team on Saturday.

Stags coach Troy Perkins said: “Gateshead will be a good test for us on Saturday.

“We will be taking on a team who has been in Championship 1 for a while and I would expect us to be fairly competitive against them.

“It will be a good chance to gauge where we are as a squad in our approach toward Championship 1 in a few weeks.”

Stags are continuing their half price ticket offer for pre-season games at £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for children.

Spectators will also be able to take advantage of a £5 discount voucher for season tickets in the match day programme.

Saturday’s game gets under way at 2pm.
